“Just Pretend” is about when the muse doesn’t return your calls; when you’ve exhausted every strategy but still can’t create. During quarantine like many others, I had a hard time even trying to muster up the energy to play or write music. “Just Pretend” is me grappling with this notion and the plummeting value of music in our society. The accompanying music video features recurring themes present in my other works but with more vivid colors and higher production values (new camera) and footage of me cutting my hair after almost 3 years of growing it.
